Wannabe Wardens

Scout taking her warden duties seriously...
Ellen (LGFC Warden): Hi Pad how are you? ... Rach ok? ... Scout good? ... you had good weather? ... Mum and Dad well?
Pad: Ellen, What do you want!?
Ellen: Would you a Rach look after the Centre (LGFC) for the weekend while we are away.
Pad: YEAH, no probs.

So.....We were both pretty chuffed to be asked to look after the place.

We had a small group of LGFC members staying the centre along with some little friends to look after... including.. 9 pups, 1 bitch, a poorly sheep, 6 ducks, more than enough chickens, 2 geese and a couple of cats.
The view from our flat for the weekend.

9 pups to look after.

One proud mum to fuss over
Our only worry during the weekend occurred when Liza (above) decided to bag Red Pike without giving us her route card!

Our canoe skills and qualifications were put to good use when we launched the centre's canoes for the first time in several years.  Good weather and calm conditions gave everyone an opportunity to have a paddle about.

Speaks for itself...

Mellow times

A great day comes to an end chilling in the centre
To summarise, we had a great weekend doing a job that I have wanted to to do for nearly 35 years!  Let us know when the position becomes vacant...

For more information regarding this truly amazing place, have look at their website (LGFC).
