'We went to the lakes!'

A first happened this weekend.  'We went to the lakes!'

We walked around Ambleside, looked in some gear shops, had some tasty food then went home...  I wonder for how many people this constitutes 'going to the lakes'?

We did however collect our wedding rings, which was our quarry of the day!  A successful trip.

New year, new garden

I have just been given ownership of an allotment. Thanks Dorris.  Any suggestions of first year growing welcome.  The plot has been used before but not for many years and has been overgrown with turf.  Thinking spuds and other roots to break the ground up?

Christmas with a difference

 Due to many complected reasons, Rachael, Scout and Myself were left to our own devices over the festive period.  We took advantage of the situation and headed north in the camper for a tour of the north west highlands.  The Pap of Glencoe was achieved on Christmas day while Stac Pollaidh in Wester Ross was climbed later in the week.  Bad weather put a damper on many of the plans so touring and windy beach walks were generally the order of the day.
