High Cup Nic and Cross Fell

The weekend was all about unvisited places within an hour of home.  The Eden Valley was our home for two days with biking in cold weather to High Cup Nic and Cross Fell.
Out of Duften our approach to High Cups (not 2 cups) follows the Pennine Way on good tracks.

After the initial hight gain is made, the track begins the traverse into the valley.

Minor trailside repairs were required on the Trek

The night was spent at Cross Fell Campsite in the Village of Orton.  The pub is unique and could be worth a second visit.

The Sunday comprised a trip up towards Cross Fell.  Good height gain was made but icey conditions were encountered so a retreat was made to a promise of a slow cooked peice of brisket.
