Lakes long weekend

Weather forecast suggested 'West was best' so headed to the lakes for a couple of days riding.

Decided on a tour of Skiddaw.  Starting at Mosedale, heading north to Calebreck where a fabulous landrover track links across to Branthwaite.  A mixture of back roads and tracks pave the way to Peter House Farm where we head back east towards Skiddaw House on good landrover tracks .
Looking west from Whitewater Dash

I joined forces with a friendly chap from Hull (Mike?) where our route joins the (rightly) popular Skiddaw Loop.
Great riding in a great position traverses Lonscale Fell.
A word of Warning:
This section of trail is excellent and has become popular through its addition in magazines and guidebooks.  This section of trail should be treated with the respect it deserves and should not be riden in 'trail centre style'.  Furthermore, the local beadrock (Skiddaw Slate) is slippery when wet.
Pause for thought:

Day 2 comprised slightly more carrying and different challenges.  Rossthwaite to Grasmere via Greenup Edge.  Grasmere to Thirlmere via Dunmail Raise.  Thirlmere to Rossthwaite via Watenath and a classic section of the Borrowdale Bash
