A great five days based in Borrowdale.

Helvellyn
We took the tourist path from the YHA to Whiteside with the intention of bagging the summit then traversing the ridge north, taking in the Dodds before descending over Matterdale Common. However!, we were met by high winds on the ridge so decided against it and retraced our tracks. Its good riding, but nothing special.

Dale Head and Maiden Moor
I met up with James and Curt for a smashing evening ride.
Technical riding. Good to ride with two guys with considerable more skill than myself!

High Street
With another day of high pressure and settled weather, we took the opportunity of heading high again. Riding North off High Street, taking in High Raise, Red Crag, Wether Hill before descending to Pooley Bridge off Loadpot Hill.
It was great to spend the day high, but the riding was less than inspiring but still fun.

And again |
The ferry back to Glenridding was the highlight!
Loughrigg Terrace and Hodgeclose
A much more traditional cross county riding day. Loughrigg terrace, Skelwith, Hodge Close, Little Langdale and Elterwater. Nice!

I spent the evening riding from the campsite. Past Ashness Bridge to Watendlath before descending to Rosthwaite. A great section of Lakeland mountain biking.

We finished a great couple days of riding with the brilliant little loop from Keswick.
And relax! |
